The Scorpion...

One night Rob found a scorpion in our garage... and thinking it would be a good learning experience for Dayton, we decided to show it to him. He, to say the least, was very intrigued by the scorpion as he knows they live in our yard (probably) and on our mountain! Dayton is always talking about all the animals that live on the mountain, he can name around 15 or so!
Rob and I told Dayton that he should never touch a scorpion and come get his mom, dad, etc if he ever saw one. Then Rob said we should take it to Mike's as we were on our way down there anyway. So, we loaded the little guy in a glass jar and off we went. I have to say I was a bit creaped out knowing that their was a scorpion sitting pretty between Rob and I, but I just went with it.
It dawned on us on the way down there that Dayton was becoming attached to the little guy when he told me the scorpion was cold and needed a blanket, then said he probably was missing his mom and dad that were still up on the mountain.
Mike, my dad and Dayton (and Rob and me too!) continued to stare at the thing throughout the night and when it was time to go home, Mike said we had to take it back with us. So again, I find myself with this creappy little guy between Rob and I on the way home. We decided we would set him free once we got back to our neighborhood... and we did (a few blocks away from our house of course!!)
This is what happens when you live in Az, we have all the fun creatures around here!! As Rob reminds me, "This ain't the Northwest baby... we have the good one's here!!" Ahhh, what we put up with for a lot of sunshine!! :)
